ALL ABOUT THE ARTIST

Inspiring Love for the Arts

THE JOURNEY

In 2001, I started experimenting with color. I started my journey with Oil and Acrylic paints, and I was playing with fabrics and mosaic. From these experiments I discovered that I take pleasure and comfort when I work with soft materials and I fell in love with the endless possibilities of colors.

"AyeletBeads - Polymer Clay Art"  had begun when my brother sent me a box of beads.

I started playing with beads and creating jewelry, and at the same time looking for more beads to buy online. This search was taking to much of my time and I could never find exactly what I was looking for so I started looking for a way to make my own beads.

I was a young mom of 2 kids, I was a creative art enthusiast who had been dreaming of creating a business, one that revolved around my passion: Art!

I started learning and experimenting with Polymer Clay.

I am self thought, I learned from books and internet, in a pre-facebook and youtube time, when info was limited.

It was and still is an incredible journey through which I met artists from all over the world and made friends for life .

Polymer Clay is my passion I love this media.

THE MATERIAL

Polymer clay is an amazing material , its soft and colorful , therapeutic, and comforting. Polymer clay is a versatile material and limited only by your imagination.

THE PROCESS

Millefiori is Italian for "Thousand Flowers." Originally a technique used for making decorative glass works most frequently associated with Venetian glassware. More recently, the millefiori technique has been applied to polymer clay and other materials.

This complex process is time consuming and involves hard work .
I create the flower design with my own polymer clay flower canes. (it’s a similar process to making rock candy)

I build my canes large and reduce to the size I want to work with, then I slice my canes to very thin slices.

Every flower is a separate slice out of my millefiori polymer clay canes.

I lay my flowers slices one by one, moulding each one in to a polymer clay surface/base, and smoothing each flower to a beautiful composition of flower arrangements.

I bake the items and let them cool, then I sand them with 5 grits of very fine sand paper, using 400 - 2000 grits dry/wet sand paper in soapy water. Then finish with a buffing wheel to get a beautiful shine and rich look.

ONE OF A KIND

I create from the heart, I give every creation a part of my soul. Every item is unique, and no two are the same.
